In order to support and develop academic publications, our university has designated the field of theology in the social sciences as the thematic area by supporting the academic researches in the field. For this purpose, The Center of Religious Studies (DIMER), which is the first and only center for the field of religious sciences in Turkey, was established at our university. According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, DIMER’s duties are to carry out studies that aim at reaching the national and international academic publishing standards of the theology journals, to spread the use of common language in scientific publications produced in the field of theology, to establish the Religious Studies Citation Index, to index articles from the scientific periodicals in the field of theology and to present them to readers, and to carry out studies that will ensure the harmonization of national and international academic publishing in the field of religious sciences. Within the scope of the related regulation, the ISNAD Citation Style has been developed in order to provide coexistence in academic researches and writings in the field of theology, and its first edition was launched on 12 March 2018. In a short time, this national reference system has spreaded widely and it is being used today in many areas of theology journals both in Turkey and the Turkish Republics, and it is becoming widespread day by day. The aim of this second edition to make the ISNAD an international academic writing and citation system that is used not only in the field of theology but also in all social sciences.
