A novel 1D polymeric chains material (C5H6ClN2)[CdCl3H2O].H2O perovskite was successfully synthesized with
the use slow evaporation process. According to the single-crystal X-ray diffraction, the structure was deduced to
crystallize in the monoclinic system (space group P21/n, no 14), with the cell parameters a = 17.8596 (9) Å, b =
7.5766 (2) Å, c = 18.2245 (9) Å, and β = 95.068 (4)◦. The crystal packing is composed of infinite polymeric
chains of [CdCl3H2O] nn
, that form with the organic cations layers parallel to the (10–1) plane and are held
together by multiple H-bonds and Van der Waals interactions. The supramolecular assembly was also explored by
the Hirshfeld surface study. The IR spectroscopic investigations were described to confirm the organic group’s
existence and define the corresponding vibration modes. The optical study was also used to show the semiconducting
behaviour of this compound, which showed relatively low gap energy 2.8 eV, promising for diverse
applications especially in tandem solar cells. The Arrhenius relation may be used to explain the conductivity of
the material. In addition, the graphs of Z’ and Z“ versus frequency were a perfect match to an equivalent circuit
model, which was represented as a resistance linked in series with two parallel circuits (R//CPE). The chemical
properties of the studied metal complex were investigated, and the properties of nonlinear optical effects (NLO)
were also calculated. The molecular docking approach was utilized to determine the studied compound’s interactions
with breast, lung, liver, and colon cancer proteins, which were then examined in detail with PLIP
analysis. In contrast, the Swiss-ADME analysis was performed to examine its pharmacological properties.
Pathogenic microorganisms like Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus were also used to test how well
the cadmium complex and antibiotics work together.

In this study, new compounds containing the sulfonamide group and having inhibitory activity on cholinesterase
enzymes (AChE, BChE) were synthesized. For this purpose, three new sulfonylhydrazone compounds were
synthesized from different alkylsulfonic acid hydrazide and N’-(4-diethylamino) salicylaldehyde and designed by
the green chemistry method in shorter time and more environmentally friendly. The structures of the synthesized
compounds were characterized by elemental analysis (CHNS), 1HNMR , 13CNMR , and FT-IR. The effects of the
synthesized sulfonylhydrazone derivatives (4Dea-salesh, 4Dea-salpsh, 4Dea-salbsh) on acetylcholinesterase and
butyrylcholinesterase enzymes were investigated. According to the results, all synthesized compounds showed
inhibitory effect on AChE and BChE enzymes. In particular, 4Dea-salbsh exhibited the best activity with an IC50
value of 9.549±0.75 μM on AChE. The Molecules were optimized by B3LYP, HF, and M062X methods with
6–31++g(d,p) basis sets. Then, their activities against biological materials namely acetylcholinesterase (AChE)
(PDB ID: 4M0E and 1OCE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) (PDB ID: 5NN0 and 6R6V), were compared. Molecular
docking studies were performed to evaluate the binding interactions between the compounds and the
enzymes. Subsequently, ADME/T properties were investigated to test the drug properties.

Here, a novel, relatively inexpensive Schiff base ligand (HL) has been studied as a corrosion inhibitor for the
protection of steel in acidic solution. Different concentrations (0–25 ppm) of HL were added to the test solution
and corrosion rate of steel and inhibition efficiency were determined. The obtained results indicated that HL is an
efficient steel inhibitor in HCl solution and exhibits the maximum inhibition efficiency of 87.3 % at low concentration
of 25 ppm. The EIS measurements revealed that polarization resistance increased from 319 Ωcm2 to
2893 Ωcm2, when the HL concentrations increased from 0 ppm to 25 ppm in HCl solution. Electrochemical
experiments revealed that HL acted as a mixed type inhibitor, slowing both cathodic and anodic processes
through adsorption which obeyed the Langmuir isotherm. The increase in inhibition efficiency up to 94.6 % with
increase in immersion time up to 24 h was observed. Corrosion morphologies were observed by SEM to verify
qualitatively the results obtained by electrochemical measurements. Quantum chemical calculations showed the
preferred sites through which the molecules can interact with steel surface.
