The applicability of both enhanced gravity concentration technique and magnetic separator for beneficiation of chromite from the magnetic tailings of Guleman-Sori/Turkey was investigated by using a multi-gravity separator (MGS) and a high-intensity induced-roll magnetic separator (HIRMS). In the first stage, multi-gravity separator tests were carried out to produce pre-chromite concentrate and to determine for MGS the most effective conditions using parameters such as drum speed, wash water, inclination, shake amplitude, and shake frequency. Under these operation parameters, pre-chromite concentrate including 32.6% Cr2O3 with 89.6% recovery could be produced by MGS. In the second stage, a high-intensity induced-roll magnetic separator test was performed in a dry medium to produce saleable chromite concentrate from the pre-concentrate. As the outcome of two-stage consecutive concentrations (MGS+HIRMS), a saleable chromite concentrate including 42.9% Cr2O3 with 73.5% recovery could be produced.en_US
