dc.description.abstractAMAÇ: Bu çalışmada betaxolol uygulanan glokomlu hastalarda latanoprostun aditif oküler hipotansif etkisi araştırıldı. METOD: Çalışmaya betaxolol almasına karşın göziçi basıncı (GİB) 22mmHg ve üzerinde olan, latanoprost grubuna 10, plasebo grubuna 6 olmak üzere 16 ardışık glokomlu hasta alındı. Hastalara bir hafta süresince akşam tek doz latanoprost veya plasebo uygulandı. Aynı zamanda çalışma öncesindeki gibi günde iki kez betaxolol tedavisine devam edildi. BULGULAR: Latanoprost grubunda bazal GİB 23.10±1.37 mmHg iken 7.günde 16.10±0.99 mmHg idi. Bu değerler plasebo grubunda sırasıyla 23.33±1.l0 mmHg, 22.17±0.75 mmHg idi. Bazal GİB ile karşılaştırıldığında, latanoprost grubunda GİB'nda, 2. gün %19.5 (4.5 mmHg), 5. gün %23.4 (5.4 mmHg) ve 7. gün %30.3 (7 mmHg) oranında ek azalma saptandı (p<0.001). Plasebo grubunda ise sırasıyla %2.5 (0.6 mmHg), %5.5 (1.3 mmHg) ve %4.7 (1.1 mmHg) idi (p>0.05). SONUÇ: Bu sonuçlar latanoprost ve betaxolol kombinasyonun glokomlu hastalarda GİB'nı düşürmede etkili bir seçenek olduğunu göstermiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractPURPOSE: In this study, the additive ocular hypotensive effect of latanoprost on intraocular pressure(IOP) in patients with glaucoma receiving betaxolol was investigated. METHODS: Consecutive 16 patients, had IOP of at least 22mmHg despite treatment with betaxolol, were included the study. During a week, single dose latanoprost or plasebo was given once daily, with concomitant betaxolol treatment twice daily. RESULTS: The mean baseline IOP was 23.10&plusmn;1.37 mmHg and after 7 days treatment was 16.10&plusmn;0.99 mmHg with latanoprost group. The values were 23.33&plusmn;1.10 mmHg and 22.17&plusmn;0.75 mmHg respectively with plasebo group. Mean IOP measurement of latanoprost group was significantly reduced compared with baseline measurements with further reductions of 19.5% (4.5 mmHg), 23.4% (5.4 mmHg) and 30.3% (7 mmHg) at 2nd, 5th, and 7th days, respectively (p&lt;0.001). The reduction was 2.5% (0.6 mmHg), 5.5% (1.3 mmHg) and 4.7% (1.1 mmHg) respectively with plasebo group. CONCLUSION: As a result, it is concluded that the combination of latanoprost and betaxolol is useful in further IOP reduction in patients with glaucoma.en_US
