Religion has received little attention from those who work with consumers.
The reason for this is that some of the authors who are interested in the consumer
issue think that the effect on the religious consumption processes is indirect and as a
result the religion has not found its place in the theory of consumer behavior.
Religion, however, is an important cultural factor to work with. Accordingly, in this
study, Internal and Behavioral Religious Values’ effect on consumers' individual
pension system purchasing intention and purchasing behavior were tried to be
examined with Structural Equation Modeling. For this purpose, data were gathered
from face to face interviews with 430 people, which were easily determined by
sampling method from bank customers. First, independent samples T test and one
way ANOVA were applied to compare the data according to demographic
characteristics. Then, the Factor Analysis and Path Analysis were applied to the
factors with the AMOS program tool. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined
that Internal Religious Values, Behavioral Religious Values, Individual Pension
System Intention to Purchase and Individual Pension System Purchasing Behavior
factors differ according to some demographic variables and do not differ according
to some. Secondly, these four factors were tested by Confirmatory Factor Analysis,
which did not show compliance with the data, and all factors were found to be in
agreement with the data. In the final part of the study, the four-factor model designed
by the researcher was tested with the Path Analysis. According to Path Analysis
results, Internal Religious Values do not have a direct effect on consumers' buying
intention and buying behaviors, Behavioral Religious values do not directly affect
BES purchasing behavior, but BES directly affects purchase intention and finally
Individual Pension System purchasing intention affected Individual Pension System
purchasing behavior.
