dc.description.abstractIn order to determine the oxidation behaviour of benzo-b-thiophene, destructive oxidation using Fenton's reagent was studied. Benzo-b-thiophene was converted to benzo-b-thiophene-S,S-dioxide but oxidation resulted mainly with ring destruction and mineralisation. The complete conversion took only a few minutes when concentrated hydrogen peroxide employed.en_US
