Kutsal Metinler Bağlamında Çevre ve Din İlişkisinin Sosyolojik Analizi

Abstract

Çevre sorunları günümüzün en önemli ve güncel sorunu haline gelmiştir. İnsanın çevreyle ilişkilerini dinden bağımsız düşünmek mümkün değildir. Çünkü din, insanın çevreyle ilişkisini etkileyen en önemli etkendir. Bu çalışmada, çevre ve din arasındaki ilişki teorik düzeyde incelenmiştir. Eski Ahit’te insanın yeryüzüne indirilmesi ve onun dünyadaki diğer varlıklar üzerindeki egemenliği vurgusu, Yahudi-Hristiyan kutsal metin geleneği içinde insan merkezcilik anlayışını doğurmuştur. Bu anlayış, insanın doğal çevresi içindeki üstünlüğü ve bu doğal çevreden sınırsızca faydalanması düşüncesine yol açmıştır. Yahudi- Hristiyan gelenekteki insan merkezli anlayışın devamını sürdüren ifadeler İslamiyet’te var olmasına rağmen İslamiyet’in oluşturduğu çevre algısı Tanrı merkezciliğe dayanmaktadır.

Environmental problems have become the most important problem of today’s world. It is impossible to think peoples relations with their environments without relating it to the religion as the religion is one of the most important factors to affect people’s relations. In this study, the relationship between the environment and the religion is examined on a theoretical basis. In the Old Testament the placement of the human on earth and the idea of his power over the other beings on earth led to human centrism. This is the main point led to the dominance of humans over their natural environment and the idea of over exploiting this natural environment. The perception of environment created by Islam somewhat differs from others and comes from god-centrism despite the fact that the very same points in Judeo-Christian tradition leading to human centric perception shared by Islam.
