Türkiye'de şiddetin kadın sağlığına etkileri

Abstract

Toplumsal bir gerçek olan şiddet olgusu, tüm toplumlar da olduğu gibi ülkemizde de önemle üzerinde durulması gereken bir sorundur. İnsanlık tarihi kadar eski olan şiddet, toplumsal koşullardan (sosyo-ekonomik, kültürel vb. koşullar) beslenmekte ve o toplumda yaşayan bireylerin özellikle de kadınların kişisel hak ve özgürlüklerini engellemektedir. Toplumsal yapının özellikleri, her ne kadar şiddetin derecesini ve şeklini belirlese de hem gelişmiş hem de azgelişmiş/gelişmekte olan ülkelerde kadınlar, şiddete maruz kalmaktadırlar. Gündelik yaşamın pek çok boyutunda ve farklı biçimlerde karşımıza çıkan şiddet olgusu, kadınları özellikle de onların sağlıklarını önemli ölçüde tehdit etmekte diğer bir deyişle onların fiziksel, psikolojik vb. şiddete uğramaları, sağlık açısından ciddi sorunların yaşanmasına sebebiyet vermektedir.

Act of violence, a social fact, is a problem that must be focused on in our country as well as in all countries. Violence, which is as old as the history of mankind, is supported by social conditions (socio-economic, cultural, etc) and it impede people’s individual rights and freedom, especially women’s. Though the features of the social structure determine the kind and the degree of the violence, women are exposed to violence both in developed and developing/underdeveloped countries. The fact of violence we encounter in many different forms in various dimensions of our daily life significantly threats women and especially their health, in other words, the fact that they are exposed to physical, psychological etc. violence causes the emergence of vital health problems.
