Hemşirelerin ve Ebelerin Mesleklerini Algılama Biçimleri ve Gelecekten Beklentileri

Abstract

AMAÇ: Çalışma, hemşirelerin ve ebelerin mesleklerini algılama biçimlerini ve gelecekten beklentilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. YöNtEM: Tanımlayıcı olarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmaya 940 hemşire ve ebe dâhil edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak, tanılama formu ile birlikte hemşire ve ebelerin mesleği algılama biçimleri ve gelecekten beklentilerini sorgulayan anket formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler ortalama, yüzdelik ve ki-kare testi ile analiz edilmiştir.BulgulAr: Çalışmaya katılanların %73,2'si hemşire ve %26,8'i ebedir. Hemşirelerin %64,7'sinin, ebelerin %69'unun mesleğini severek yaptıkları; hemşirelerin %23,5'inin, ebelerin 20,2'sinin mesleklerinin statüsünün yüksek olduğunu düşündükleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada hemşirelerin %37,6'sının, ebelerin %36,5'inin mesleki anlamda geleceğe bakış açılarının olumsuz olduğu ve hemşirelerin %38,1'inin, ebelerin %32,5'inin mesleğin statüsünün gelecekte daha iyi olacağını düşündükleri saptanmıştır. SoNuÇ: Hemşirelerin ve ebelerin mesleklerini severek yapmalarına rağmen, mesleki algılarının iyi olmadığı, hemşirelerin ve ebelerin mesleklerini hemen hemen aynı şekilde algıladıkları, hemşirelerin ve ebelerin gelecekten beklentilerinin kısmen olumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

AIM: The study was carried out in order to determine job perception patterns of nurses and midwives and their expectations for the future.MEthoDS: A total of 940 nurses and midwives were enrolled in this descriptive study. As data collection tools, data description, and questionnaire forms which contained questions related to job perceptions of the nurses, and midwives, and their expectations for the future were used. For statistical analysis of data, mean (± SD), percentages and chi-square test were used.rESultS: Study participants consisted of nurses (73.2%), and midwives (26.8%). It was determined that 64.7% of the nurses and 69% of the midwifes worked in their profession with pleasure, while 23.5% of the nurses and 20.2% of the midwives thought that their professions had a higher status. In the study, it was established that 37.6% of the nurses and 36.5% of the midwives had negative expectations about the future of their job, and 38.1% of the nurses and 32.5% of the midwives thought that status of the profession would be better in the future.CoNCluSIoN: Although nurses and midwives work with pleasure in their professions , it was determined that their job perceptions were not favourable, and did not differ between these two health care professionals. Also their expectations for the future were partly positive.
