ÖĞRENCİLERİN ÖZGÜVEN SEVİYELERİ İLE MESLEKİ BAŞARI DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ: CUMHURİYET ÜNİVERSİTESİ MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULLARINDA UYGULAMA

Abstract

Kendisine güven duyan kişilerin hem eğitim hem de iş hayatlarında başarılı oldukları genel kabul gören bir görüştür. Bu konu özellikle meslek hayatına hazırlanan ve piyasada ara eleman olarak istihdam edilecek meslek yüksekokulu öğrencilerinde daha da önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada da Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin kendilerine güven duydukları konuların belirlenmesi ve özgüven seviyelerinin ölçülmesi, özgüven seviyesi farklı olan öğrencilerin, başarı düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olup olmadığı incelenecektir. Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin ara eleman olarak çalışma hayatına hızlı giriş yapma olasılıkları, elde edilecek bulguların hayata geçirebilir olması, benzer çalışmaların azlığı, araştırmayı önemli kılmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, özgüven seviyeleri arasındaki farklılığın başarıya olan etkisini ölçmek, şayet anlamlı bir farklılık elde edilirse, yüksekokullardaki ders içeriklerini, eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini, sosyal aktiviteleri incelemek, öğrencilerin özgüven seviyelerini artırıcı önerilerde bulunmaktır. Çalışmanın tekniği, nicel yöntem kullanılması şeklinde gerçekleşmiştir. Nicel teknik olarak, toplam öğrenci sayısına göre belirlenecek örnekleme üzerinde anket metodu uygulanmış, anket formunda Piers ve Harris Özgüven Ölçeği (1964) – (Türkçe uyarlama Öner, 1996) kullanılmıştır. Veriler arasında ilişkinin var olup olmadığına bakmak için korelasyon analizi, ilişki varsa yönü ve gücüne bakmak için regresyon analizi gibi istatistiki analiz yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır.

According to the results from the studies, general thought is that selfconfident people are successful both in education life and business life. In this study, the determining of the topics that the students of vocational school of higher education are interested in, the measuring of their levels of self-confidence, and whether there is a significant difference among the students whose self-confidence levels are different are going to be analyzed. The possibility that the students of vocational school begin working life, the actuality of the data, and the lack of counterpart studies make this research important. The aim of this study is to measure difference between the level of selfconfidence and the success, and if there is a significant difference, it also aims to analyze the content of the lessons, educational and social activities in higher education, and to make suggestions that can raise students’ self-confidence. All the students of vocational school of higher education comprise the universe of the study. The technique of the study is going to be the use of quantitative methods together. As quantitative method, the questionnaire method is going to be applied on the sample which is going to be determined according to the total students’ number. In the questionnaire, Piers and Harris Self-Confidence Scale (1964) – (Turkish version Öner, 1996) is going to be used. Statistical analysis methods such as correlation analysis to look for the existence of the relationship between the data, regression analysis to look at the relationship and direction of power were used.
