dc.description.abstract | A major problem in the treatment of diseases in central nervous system (CNS) lies in the impediment of drug delivery into tissues. It is imperative to have a thorough understanding of the function of blood brain barrier to develop effective therapeutics. It is known that the barrier is mainly made up of the physical elements of tight junction (TJ) complex. The major constituents of TJ, such as occludin, claudins, zonula occludens and junctional adhesion molecule have been subjects of studies. We believe that cytoskeletal components may play a critical role in interacting TJ molecular constituents. | en_US |
