Comparison of efficiency of morphine, meperidine and fentanyl in treatment of postoperative pain with patient controlled analgesia [HASTA KONTROLLU ANALJEZI ILE POSTOPERATIF AGRI TEDAVISINDE MORFIN, MEPERIDIN VE FENTANILIN ETKINLIGININ KARSILASTIRILMASI]
Abstract
In this study, morphine, meperidine and fentanyl were given to ASA I and II patients by PCA in order to treat the postoperative pain. To evaluate the effectiveness of analgesics, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), respiratory rate, arterial pressure, sedation scale and heart rate were used. Efficacy of these analgesics was analyzed statistically. When we detected results at 0, 6, 12, 24 hours, we observed significantly differences between three analgesics (p<0.01). We detected only nausea as a side effect for all analgesics. We agreed that morphine, meperidine and fentanyl could be used safely on Patient Controlled Analgesia therapy.
