Autotransplantation of Impacted Third Molars and 2 Years Follow-Up: 3 Cases Report
(Ankara Diş Hekimleri Odası, 2011) Ezirganlı, Şeref; Taşdemir, Ufuk; Özer, Koray
Autotransplantation is a tissue or organ transplantation that originated from the same organism. Tooth autotransplantation can be defined as the surgically movement of a tooth from one position in the mouth to another site of the person. Transplantation has a key role in the replacement of young patient’s missing teeth. Autotransplantation is a viable option for a missing tooth because the transplanted tooth can function as a normal tooth. In adolescence, the applications of bridgework and dental implant may impede the normal growth of facial bones, in particular, of the alveolar process. In these people, the tooth autotransplantation is a viable procedure with low morbidity and excellent functional and esthetic outcomes. In this case report series, it was presented the autotransplantation of impacted third molars in 3 patients with a mean follow-up period of 2 years. It is a successful treatment option the autotransplantation of impacted third molars in younger cases, teeth with unclosed apices, and especially in upper jaws

    Erupted Mesiodens
(Ankara Diş Hekimleri Odası, 2012) Ün, Emin; Ezirganlı, Şeref; Özer, Koray; Kırtay, Mustafa
Mesiodens is the most common supernumerary tooth, occurring in 0.15% to 1.9% of the population. The etiology of mesiodens is completely unknown, although there are various theories. Mesiodens are usually single and impacted, although they may be multiple and erupted. The morphology can be conical most common , tuberculate or molariform. This anomaly is diagnosed through clinical examination, and maxillary anterior periapical or panoramic radiography. The presence of mesiodens often results in complications including retention of primary teeth and delayed eruption of permanent teeth, and closure of eruption path. Extraction of mesiodens in the primary dentition is generally not recommended and surgical extraction of unerupted these teeth may increase the risk of damaging the developing permanent incisors. In this article, four cases of erupted mesiodens were presented. Mesiodens were extracted because of patients’ demand in three cases

Radiographic evaluation location of the mental foramen
(Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry, 2010) Ezirganli, Seref; Özer, Koray; San, Fatih; Kirmali, Ömer; Isa Kara, M.
Purpose: The accurate location of mental foramen is important for surgery operation on mandible. The variations of its locations can be a cause of complication surgical operations such as especially implant surgery. The purpose of this study is to determine the location of mental foramen by analyzing digital panoramic radiographs of patients in Sivas. Materials and methods: In this study, 360 panoramic radiographs taken from patients were analyzed retrospectively. The different locations of mental foramen on panoramic radiographs were evaluated as symmetric and asymmetric considering gender. Additionally, the average distances of mental foramen to the alveolar ridge of the mandible and at the inferior border of the mandible were analyzed. Results: It was determined that mental foramen was located between the first and second premolars in 59.4% of patient and in line with the second premolar in 37.2%. It was found that mental foramen was between the first and second premolars in 64.6% of males and 55.1% female. It was determined that mental foramen was symmetrical in 80.28% of patient. It was determined its average distance, on the right side, at the alveolar ridge was of 16.79 mm and of the inferior border of the mandible was of 12.46 mm. It was also found that on the left side the average distance of foramen to the alveolar ridge is 16.80 mm and to the inferior border of the mandible is 12.58 mm. Conclusion: In conclusion, it was determined on panoramic radiography that mental foramen was the best location between the first and second premolars and its other locations were a few in Sivas. It was exhibited that mental foramen was bilaterally symmetrical on many of patient.

Transmigration of Impacted Mandibular Canines: A Report of 5 Cases
(Ankara Diş Hekimleri Odası, 2011) Ezirganlı, Şeref; Özer, Koray; Kırtay, Mustafa; Hasdemir, Dila; Ün, Emin
Transmigration is described as pre-eruptive migration of an impacted tooth across the midline. Their etiology is not clear and is a rare phenomenon. This condition is a rare phenomenon. It usually occurs with canine tooth and is seen in the mandible. Transmigration of canines has been reported more frequently in females than males. These teeth usually do not give any symptoms and are often discovered in routine examination. In this case report, five patients with transmigrated canines in themandible were presented
