Öğe Occupational safety perceptions of prehospital emergency health services employees: A sample of Sivas central district(Ios Press, 2023) Alacahan, Omer Faruk; Gulluoglu, Arif Nichat; Karagoz, NaimBACKGROUND: Prehospital emergency health services ambulance workers are in the risky class in terms of occupational health and safety, and they are faced with more risks due to the fact that they are the first responders to the events, especially regarding COVID-19. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the present study is to determine the occupational risk perceptions of health care workers and their relations with demographic variables. METHODS: A literature review was performed to develop a questionnaire. This questionnaire was used in a survey with 250 respondents. The collected data was analysed through factor analysis. Cronbach's Alpha was calculated to verify the reliability of the data. RESULTS: The risk perceptions of the employees (Factor 1 and Factor 3) differ significantly according to gender. Another important point is that 60.3% of the participants stated that they agree with the statement that health workers experience violence during work. CONCLUSION: The risk perception of women was found to be higher, and the reason for this is that women are less physically strong than men along with social gender roles and gender discrimination.Öğe Removal of Tetracycline Using Different Treatment Processes; Electrocoagulation, Ultrasound and Ultrasound Assisted Electrocoagulation(Springer Int Publ Ag, 2024) Alacahan, Omer Faruk; Ozyonar, FuatThis study examined the elimination of tetracycline (TC) in aqueous samples by electrocoagulation (EC), ultrasonography (US), and US-assisted EC methods. The effects of TC removal with EC method were examined using different types of junctions, i.e., monopolar parallel (MP-P), monopolar serial (MP-S), bipolar serial (BP-S), and eight various combinations of aluminum and iron hybrid electrodes. The effectiveness of EC variables on TC and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) removal efficiencies was investigated, including the combination of hybrid electrodes, the initial value of pH, current density, initial concentration of TC, airflow volume, conductivity of the solution, and connection configuration. Optimal conditions for the 5-min EC time were found to be: Al-Fe-Fe-Fe electrode configuration, pH initial value of 6, current density of 50 A/m2, TC concentration of 100 mg/L, airflow volume of 2 L/min, solution conductivity of 1000 mu S/cm, and MP-P connection type. Under these conditions, TC and COD removal efficiencies were 96.3% and 91.2%, respectively. Additionally, under optimal operating criteria in the fixed-power, fixed-frequency US-coupled EC process, TC and COD removal efficiencies were 100% and 97.5%, respectively. UV absorbance was measured before and after treatment using EC, US, and US-assisted EC techniques. Taking into account electrode, energy, and chemical consumption, the operating costs for EC and EC-US were determined to be 0.215 /m3 and 0.76 /m3, respectively. The results showed that the US-assisted EC and EC process was highly effective in removing TC from aqueous solutions. center dot The Ultrasound-assisted Electrocoagulation (EC/US) process is effective for TC removal.center dot Tetracycline showed 100% removal efficiency via the EC/US process.center dot The EC/US process is economical (0.76 /m3 at 2.5-min operation time).
