Öğe Chemical diversity of essential oils within the origanum dubium boiss. Population(Badebio Biotechnololgy Ltd, 2019) Kaplan, Begüm; Uçar, Esra; Turgut, KenanOriganum dubium Boiss. is one of the economically important wild oregano species and it is intensely collected from its natural habitat in Antalya, Turkey. Carvacrol chemotype of Origanum dubium is used mainly for essential oil production due to its high essential oil content. In this study, chemical diversity of Origanum dubium was investigated in order to develop new cultivars with improved essential oil yield and carvacrol content using clone selection method under cultivated condition. Essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of Origanum dubium were analysed by GC-MS and 24 major components were identified. Among the selected genotypes, carvacrol was the major component and followed by p-cymene, ?–terpinene, myrcene and ?-thujene, respectively. The essential oil yields were varied between 5.0% to 14.0%; carvacrol rates were varied between 73.76% to 88.21%; and p-cymene rates were varied between 3.16% to 9.10%. © 2019, Badebio Biotechnololgy Ltd. All rights reserved.Öğe Comparison of different drying methods for phytochemical quality of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bert.)(Horticulture and Forestry Society from Transylvania, 2023) Özyiğit, Yaşar; Uçar, Esra; Eruygur, Nuraniye; Ataş, Mehmet; İnanir, Merve; Bal, Halil; Kahrizi, DanialThis study examined the effects of different drying methods on the chemical content, antioxidant, antibacterial, enzymatic and anticancer activity values of stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bert.) extract. Stevia leaves were dried using four different methods (in the sun, shade, air conditioner, and oven), and extracts were collected and analyzed. Based on extract content, 2-tetradecyl acrylate was the major ingredient in air-conditioned and oven-dried applications (25.00% and 21.47%, respectively). The same compound was detected in both sun-drying and shade-drying methods, but the content was low. The antioxidant activity values of the samples were evaluated with 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2?-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging tests. While the best result for DPPH (IC50 value 57.94 ± 0.63 µg/mL) was found in the shade-dried stevia samples, the best result in terms of ABTS test (IC50 value 44.03 ± 1.22 µg/mL) ml) was detected in oven-dried. When the samples were examined in terms of antimicrobial activity, it was seen that extracts of all drying methods were effective against Staphylococcus aureus. However, it was determined that the extracts obtained from plants dried in air conditioning and oven had a stronger effect. The cell viability assay was utilized to assess the antiproliferative effects of extract on L929 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines. The extracts did not significantly affect the L929 cell viability, while MDA-MB-231 remarkably reduced cell viability (sun drying, IC50 = 0.9 mg/mL; oven drying, IC50 = 0.65 mg/mL; shade drying, IC50 = 0.74 mg/mL; air conditioner drying, IC50 = 0.47 mg/mL). In particular, the extract obtained by the air conditioner drying method showed the most prominent cytotoxic effect. The results showed that drying using different methods had an impact on the quality standards of the stevia leaves. © 2023, Horticulture and Forestry Society from Transylvania. All rights reserved.Öğe Coronilla parviflora Moench Çiçeklerinin Farklı Ekstraktlarının Biyolojik Aktiviteleri(Sivas Cumhuriyet University, 2022) Uçar, Esra; Sarı, Ferda; Eruygur, NuraniyeBu çalışmada, Coronilla parviflora çiçeklerinden elde edilen su ve metanol ekstraktlarının antioksidan aktiviteleri araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre metanol ekstraktının antioksidan aktivite değerinin su ekstraktına göre daha güçlü etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Aynı zamanda metanol ekstraktının TPC (Total Fenol Miktar) değeri de Coronilla parviflora çiçeklerinin su ekstraktından daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Metanol ekstraktının ana bileşeni %20,85 ile “Palmitinik asit”, su ekstraktının ana bileşeni ise “4H-Pyran-4-on, 2,3-dihidro-3,5-” olarak bulundu. dihidroksi-6-metil” ile 23.72 olarak bulunmuştur.Öğe Mikrodalgada kurutulan Tragopogon reticulatus Boiss.'in kurutma kinetiği ve renk değerlerinin belirlenmesi(Sivas Cumhuriyet University, 2022) Sarı, Ferda; Uçar, EsraBu çalışmada Tragopogon reticulatus Boiss. (yemlik) bitkisi mikrodalga tekniği ile kurutulmuştur. Uygulanan farklı mikrodalga güç yoğunluğunun yemliğin kurutma kinetiği ve rengi üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Kurutma işlemi 180-900 W arasında olmak üzere dört faklı mikrodalga güç yoğunluğunda yapılmıştır. Yemliğin kuruma davranışlarını açıklamak için 4 farklı model test edilmiştir. Uygulanan tüm koşullarda Logaritmik modelin kurutma kinetiğini açıklayan en iyi model olduğu saptanmıştır. Kuruma azalan hız peryodunda gerçekleşmiştir. Mikrodalga gücünün artmasıyla kuruma oranı artmış, kuruma süresi ise azalmıştır. Taze örneklerin L* değeri kurutulmuş örneklerden önemli ölçüde farklılık göstermiştir (p0.05). Sonuçlar renk değerlerindeki değişimin mikrodalga güç yoğunluğuna bağlı olmadığını göstermiştir.Öğe Oksadiazol-Tetrasübstitüye Magnezyum Ftalosiyanin Bileşiğinin Antioksidan Aktivitesi(Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi, 2023) Yabaş, Ebru; Uçar, EsraBu çalışma oksadiazol tetrasübstitüe magnezyum ftalosiyanin bileşiğinin antioksidan aktivitesini inceleyen bir çalışmadır. Oksadiazol sübstitüe ftalonitril türevinin tetramerizasyon reaksiyonu sonucu elde edilen ftalosiyanin bileşiğinin DPPH radikal yakalama aktiviteleri, toplam fenolik ve flavonoid içerikleri gibi in vitro antioksidan aktiviteleri araştırıldı. Bileşiğin, yüksek toplam fenol içeriğinin yanı sıra DPPH ile önemli ölçüde reaksiyona girdiği belirlendi. Elde edilen verilere göre özellikleri incelenen ftalosiyanin bileşiğinin antioksidan aktiviteye sahip olduğu söylenebilir.Öğe Some Quality Criteria of Valerian (Valeriana dioscoridis Sm.) Growing in Different Environments(Pamukkale University, 2020) Uçar, Esra; Ataş, Mehmet; Çilesiz, Yeter; Çinbilgel, İlker; Eruygur, Nuraniye; Oral, İrem Zeynep; Karaköy, TolgaValerian (Valeriana dioscoridis Sm.) is a perennial herb of the Caprifoliaceae family. The genus Valeriana L. is represented by 14 species (15 taxa) in Turkey. This plant contains flavone glycosides, iridoids and lignans. Among these components, the medically important active ingredient is valerianic acid. Essential oils from valerian roots and rhizomes are used for the treatment of various diseases, including insomnia, mental illness, anxiety, menstrual cramps and physical stress conditions. In this study, evaluations were made of the root and rhizome of valerian plants grown in a natural environment and in greenhouse condition. The macro and micro nutrient contents of the powdered plant samples, and the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity values of the extracts were reported. Except for some macro and micro elements, it was determined that antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of plants cultivated and grown in nature were not different. The major components of both the natural and cultivated forms were determined to be 9-Borabicyclo [3.3.1] nonane, 9-[3-(dimethylamino) propyl]- (17.55% and 22.65%, respectively). The heavy metales such as Fe (415.21±47.8 mg/kg), Cu (50.9±0.2 mg/kg) and Mn (274.6±9.5 mg/kg), were obtained above limit values in grown plants of natural environment conditions. © IJSM 2020.
