Öğe Investigation of University Students' Motivation to Participate in Physical Activity during the Pandemic Period(2021) Ceylan, Levent; Çebi, Mehmet; Eliöz, Murat; Yamak, BadeThe aim of this study is to examine the motivation of university students to participate in physical activity during the pandemic period in terms of age, gender, income status, time to do sports and place of residence. The universe of the study consists of the students of Ondokuz Mayıs University Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sports Sciences. With the random sampling method of the research, a total of 328 students, 165 male and 163 female, were formed from four different departments. In the study, the \"Physical Activity Participation Motivation Scale\" and demographic information form, the validity and reliability study of which was conducted by Demir and Cicioglu, was applied to the students of the faculty of sports sciences. Since the data was collected through Google Forms, the voluntary participation of the participants in the research was taken as basis. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 package program. Since the data showed normal distribution, the Independent T Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance were used. The homogeneity of the data was performed using the Scheffe test and the Post-Hoc Multiple Comparison test. Statistical values were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and p<0.05 and p<0.01 significance levels. There was no significant difference between the motivation to participate in physical activity according to the gender, age, place of residence and time to do sports (p>0.05). The motivation to participate in physical activity according to the income of the participants showed significant differences in the individual reason, reasonlessness sub-dimensions and the sub-dimension total score (p<0.05). As a result, it was seen that the age, gender and time to do sports of the participants did not affect the motivation to participate in physical activity. Only the financial income of the participants affects their motivation to participate in physical activity. We can say that high-income participants have high motivation to participate in physical activity. In this case, it can be said that individuals who do not experience financial anxiety easily think about participation in physical activity in their spare time. In addition, if we consider that gyms are paid, these results are expected.Öğe Relationship between certain biochemical parameters an maximal aerobic speed of elite soccer players(Mattioli 1885, 2021) Cebi, Mebmet; Ceviker, Abdulkerim; Ozlu, Kurtulus; Elioz, Murat; Yamak, Bade; Kusan, Osman; Agaoglu, Seydi AbmetStudy Objectives: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the relationship between vitamin D and lipid profiles of athletes playing football professionally during the season and some metabolic parameters and maximal rate. Methods: 52 male elite soccer players performing in Super League, TFF 2nd League, and TFF 3rd League whose mean age 22.86 +/- 3.55 years, participated in our study. The sport age of the soccer players was 12.2 +/- 1.70 years. The participants attended in at least five 80-minute training periods and performed at least one official competition weekly (through 11 months). In November, blood samplings of the athletes and other parameters were obtained between 09:00 and 10:00 a. m. leading a 12-hour fasting period. The Maximal Aerobic Speed (MAS) measurement developed by Buchheit (2008) to evaluate aerobic power and capacity was used to carry out the study. In order to determine the relationship between the variables of individuals, Pearson Correlation Test was used as the data showed normal distribution. Results: Albumin, Alp, Alt, Ast, B12 vitamin, Ca, Phosphorus, Creatinine, Mg, Free T3, Sodium, Tsh, Ferritin, Folic Acid, Potassium Triglyceride, Glucose, Total Cholesterol, and Free T4 values were found within normal limits. It can be said that athletes had low vitamin D values. It was observed that the participants had low LDL cholesterol values. Variables don't have any significant effects on running time, peak velocity, true vift and VO2 max of biochemical parameters (p>0,05). Conclusion: As a result, it can be concluded that despite the positive relationship between the maximal aerobic velocity test parameters of the footballers and their pre-test biochemical results, it wasn't statistically a meaningful relationship.Öğe The dual impact: physiological and psychological effects of rapid weight loss in wrestling(Frontiers Media Sa, 2025) Sariakcali, Baris; Sahin, Fatma Nese; Basoglu, Burhan; Ceylan, Levent; Guler, Ozkan; Yamak, Bade; Arikan, GoekhanIntroduction: Athletes competing in weight-class sports often seek to gain an advantage by competing at lower weights. Athletes competing in weight-class sports often seek to gain an advantage by competing at lower weights. To achieve this, they aim to lose weight during the competition period, leading to various physiological and psychological changes. This study aimed to investigate the biochemical, hormonal, and psychological effects of weight reduction in elite wrestlers during the competition phase. Methods: Thirty-seven elite male free style wrestlers (age: 19.02 +/- 1.27) participated in the study. Samples were collected 5 days before and on the day of the match. Results: A significant decrease in body weight was observed (p < 0.05). Levels of creatine, BUN, sodium, hematocrit, hemoglobin, LDH, and cortisol increased, while albumin, testosterone, and FSH levels decreased. There were no significant differences in potassium, ALT, AST, TSH levels. State and trait anxiety scores of the wrestlers increased significantly during the RWL period. Conclusion: The study concluded that elite wrestlers experienced significant changes in physiological and psychological parameters during the competition periods. These findings underscore the importance of careful monitoring of RWL strategies by coaches and athletes to mitigate the adverse effects on nutritional status, psychological well-being, and physical performance.
