dc.description.abstractIn Sufi tradition, nazar (spiritual gaze) is an essential method of training and guidance, encompassing a profound connection between the Murshid-i Kamil (perfect spiritual guide) and the disciple. This gaze is not limited to a physical act of looking; it is a transformative force that can “see,” “burn,” “destroy,” and “build” the spiritual state of the disciple. These stages symbolize the journey of the soul through purification and reconstruction. “Seeing” refers to recognition and connection; “burning” represents the melting of the ego through love and attraction (jazbah); “destroying” implies eradicating negative traits and attachments; and “building” signifies the formation of moral and spiritual virtues. This study examines the concept of nazar as presented in Dīvān-i Hūlūsī-i Dārendevī by Osman Hūlūsī Efendi, a prominent late-period Sufi poet. By focusing on the poetic expressions in the Dīvān, the transformative stages of nazar are explored, shedding light on its role as a Sufi training method. The analysis highlights how nazar serves not only as a channel for spiritual influence but also as a means for moral and psychological refinement. Using comparative textual analysis and poem commentary, the study aims to interpret the symbolic meanings of nazar—seeing, burning, destroying, and building—within the framework of Sufi thought. It contributes to understanding the dynamic interplay between the Murshid and the disciple and its poetic reflection in Sufi literature.
dc.description.abstractTasavvufî bir terbiye metodu olarak nazar, mürşid-i kâmilin müridine bakmasından ibarettir. Söz konusu bakışı normal bakışlardan ayıran unsurlar; nazar edenle edilen arasında muhabbet doğurması, nazarla sağlanan cezbe, müriddeki psikolojik tesiri ve ahlaki dönüşüme katkısıdır. Zira sahabe tanımlarında görmenin öne çıkarılması, aşka düşmenin ve sûfî hayata yönelimin bir nazarla başladığı örnekler göz önünde bulundurulduğunda nazarın önemi ve ruhların göz maharetiyle tesir-teessürünün imkânı ortaya çıkacaktır. Bu çalışmada genellikle parapsikolojik bir vakıa olarak zarar verici etkisi ile bilinen nazarın manevi terbiye ve irşaddaki olumlu rolü konu edilmiştir. Makale son dönem sûfî şairlerden Osman Hulûsî Efendi’nin Dîvân-ı Hulûsî-i Dârendevî adlı eserindeki ilgili gazeller ve beyitlerle sınırlandırılmıştır. Bir sûfî şairin eserindeki nazarla ilgili beyitlere hususen eğilen bir makale yazılmadığı için bu çalışma öncü bir rol oynamaya aday olmak bakımından önemlidir. Çalışma bilimsel olarak kanıtlanamamış fakat olgusal olarak da reddedilemeyen nazarın özelliklerini ve muhataptaki etkisini tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada mukayeseli metin tahlili ve şiir şerhi yöntemleri uygulanacaktır.
