dc.description.abstractIt is essential for individuals to have access to many elements such as education, health, infrastructure, transportation, nutrition, a clean environment and social ties in order to live their lives in the best possible way. The economic development level of a country is an important factor in accessing all these services. Ensuring the sustainability of economic growth, which is the driving force of development, especially in developing countries, is of vital importance in correctly identifying the factors behind growth and implementing policies. In this study, how economic, financial, institutional and social risks affect economic growth for N11 countries, which are in the developing countries category and are expected to be among the leading countries in the world in terms of GDP level in the coming years, was investigated through panel data analysis. In the study, which used the ICRG data set and covered the years 1997-2021, the model that included structural breaks was estimated with the Driscoll-Kraay Robust Estimator. According to the analysis results, where the structural break was found to be statistically significant, increases in economic, financial and institutional risks increase the risks in economic growth; on the other hand it has been determined that an increase in the social risk score reduces the risk in economic growth.
dc.description.abstractBireylerin hayatlarını en güzel şekilde idame ettirmeleri noktasında eğitim, sağlık, altyapı, ulaşım, beslenme, temiz bir çevre, sosyal bağlar gibi birçok unsura erişimleri elzemdir. Tüm bu hizmetlere ulaşmada bir ülkenin ekonomik olarak gelişmişlik düzeyi önemli bir noktada yer alır. Özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkeler nezdinde kalkınmanın da itici gücü olan ekonomik büyümenin sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması, büyümenin arkasında yatan faktörlerin doğru bir şekilde tespit edilmesi ve politikaların hayata geçirilmesi noktasında hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada gelişmekte olan ülkeler kategorisinde yer alan ve önümüzdeki yıllarda GSYİH seviyesi olarak dünyanın önde gelen ülkeleri arasında olması beklenen N11 ülkeleri için ekonomik, finansal, kurumsal ve toplumsal risklerin ekonomik büyümeyi nasıl etkilediği panel veri analizi ile araştırılmıştır. ICRG veri setinden faydalanılan ve 1997-2021 yıllarını kapsayan çalışmada, Driscoll-Kraay Dirençli Tahmincisi ile yapısal kırılmaların da dâhil edildiği model tahmin edilmiştir. Yapısal kırılmanın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunduğu analiz sonuçlarına göre, ekonomik, finansal ve kurumsal risklerdeki artışların ekonomik büyümedeki riskleri artırdığı; toplumsal risk puanındaki bir artışın ise ekonomik büyümedeki riski azalttığı tespit edilmiştir.
