dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to reveal the gender perceptions of the employees working in hotels with tourism management certificate operating in Sivas towards 12 job positions in the tourism sector. In a sample of 151 people working actively in hotels with tourism management certificate operating in Sivas, it was tried to discover which of the 12 job positions are perceived as feminine, masculine or neutral. It was aimed to reveal whether social occupational gender perceptions differ between the genders with the Chi-square Test. In order to reveal the social gender perceptions of the participants in the subconscious of the participants, a scenario using the fictional scenario technique was created, in which 12 job positions included in the study were used. In addition, the gender perceptions of the participants for the 12 job positions in question were revealed directly, that is, by explicit measurement, and a comparison was made on the answers in the two measurements. According to the results of the research, although the employment rates of hotel employees operating in Sivas are close to each other, it is seen that female employees are generally perceived in low-level positions and male employees in high-level positions.
dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı Sivas’ta faaliyet gösteren turizm işletme belgeli otellerde çalışanların turizm sektörü içerisindeki 12 iş pozisyonuna yönelik toplumsal mesleki cinsiyet algılarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Sivas ilinde faaliyet gösteren turizm işletme belgeli otellerde aktif olarak çalışan 151 kişiden oluşturulan örneklemde, 12 iş pozisyonunun hangilerin feminen, maskülen veya nötr algılandıkları keşfedilmeye çalışılmıştır. Toplumsal mesleki cinsiyet algılarının cinsiyetler arasında farklılık gösterip göstermediği Ki-kare testi ile ortaya konmak istenmiştir. Katılımcıların bilinçaltında yer alan toplumsal mesleki cinsiyet algılarını ortaya çıkarmak için kurgusal senaryo tekniği kullanılarak araştırmada yer alan 12 iş pozisyonunun kullanıldığı bir senaryo üretilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, katılımcıların söz konusu 12 iş pozisyonuna yönelik toplumsal mesleki cinsiyet algıları doğrudan yani açık ölçümle de ortaya çıkarılarak, iki ölçümdeki cevaplar üzerinden karşılaştırma yapılmak istenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre Sivas’ta faaliyet gösteren otel çalışanlarının istihdam edilme oranlarının birbirine yakın olmasına rağmen kadın çalışanların genelde alt düzey iş pozisyonlarında, erkek çalışanların ise üst düzey iş pozisyonlarda algılandıkları görülmektedir.
