dc.description.abstractAs a result of Hamas's attack on the settlements in the south of Israel on October 7, 2023, the entire agenda in the world and in Turkey changed completely. In the Turkish media, news about the incident appeared in both traditional and digital media. In this study, Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis was used to reveal how Israel and Hamas were positioned in the news. The thematic news channels A Haber, Halk TV, Habertürk and TRT Haber were selected for analysis. The first two news of the main news bulletins broadcast in prime time on these television channels between October 8, 2023 and October 15, 2023 were examined. As a result of the research; While the positioning of the parties in the news is Hamas-Israel outside TRT News, it is stated as Palestine-Israel in TRT News. Statements made by political actors were included in the first two news of the main news bulletins. In particular, it is seen that the sentences said by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the Hamas-Israel incident are used. While the sentences about the content of the main event in the news are used in passive voice, the analysis revealed that the sentences containing people making statements about the event are in active voice.
dc.description.abstract7 Ekim 2023 tarihinde Hamas’ın, İsrail’in güneyindeki yerleşim yerlerine saldırması sonucu Dünya’da ve Türkiye’de tüm gündem baştan sona değişmiştir. Türk medyasında olaya dair haberler hem geleneksel hem de dijital medyada yer almıştır. Bu çalışmada İsrail ve Hamas’ın yapılan haberlerde nasıl konumlandırıldığını ortaya çıkarmak için Van Dijk’in eleştirel söylem analizi kullanılmıştır. Analiz için tematik haber kanalları olan A Haber, Halk TV, Habertürk ve TRT Haber seçilmiştir. Bu televizyon kanallarında 8 Ekim 2023-15 Ekim 2023 tarihinde prime time zamanında yayınlanan ana haber bültenlerinin ilk iki haberleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda; haberlerdeki tarafların konumlandırılma şekli TRT Haber dışında Hamas-İsrail iken TRT Haber’de Filistin-İsrail olarak belirtilmiştir. Siyasi aktörlerin verdiği demeçler ana haber bültenlerinin ilk iki haberinde yer almıştır. Özellikle Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’ın Hamas-İsrail olayı ile alakalı söylediği cümlelerin kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Haberlerde ana olayın içeriğine dair kurulan cümleler pasif seste kullanılırken olaya dair açıklama yapan kişilerin yer aldığı cümlelerin aktif seste olduğu yapılan analiz sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır.
