dc.description.abstractÇalışmamızda, önemli bir toplumsal sorun olan intihar olgularını adli tıp yönünden incelemeyi amaçladık. 1994-1996 yılları arasında Sivas'ta görülen intihar olgularının adli ve tıbbi kayıtları incelendi. 152 intihar girişim olgusunun 61'i (%40.1) erkek, 91'i (%59.9) kadındı. En sık rastlanan intihar girişim yöntemi ilaç zehirlenmesiydi. Doksandokuz olgu (%65.1) ilaçla zehirlenmiş, bunlardan 3'ü (%3) ölmüştü. İkinci sıklıkla uygulanan intihar girişim yöntemi ası idi. 22 (%14.5) olgu bu yolla intihar etmiş ve hepsi ölmüştür. Diğer yöntemlere daha az sıklıkla rastladık. Olguların 31'i (%20.4) ölmüştü. Bunların 22'si (%71) ası, 3'ü (%9.8) ilaç, biri (%3.2) ateşli silah, biri (%3.2) LPG (Sıvılaştırılmış Petrol Gazı), biri (%3.2) elektrik çarpması, biri (%3.2) yanık, biri (%3.2) suda boğulma, biri (%3.2) yüksekten atlama ile hayatını kaybetmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this study, our purpose is to evaluate the suicide cases that are important social problems from a medicolegal point of view. During the years 1994 to 1996, informations on suicide cases obtained from judicial and medical archives in Sivas were evaluated. Of 152 suicide attempt cases, 61 (40.1%) were male and 91 (59.9%) were female. The most commonly used method for suicide attempt was drug poisoning preferred by 99 (65.1%) cases and 3 of these cases (3%) died. The second commonly used method was hanging chosen by 22 cases (14.5%) and all died. The other suicide attempt methods are less commonly used. Thirty-one (20.4%) of suicide cases died, 22 (71%) with hanging, 3 (9.8%) with drug poisoning, one (3.2%) with firearm, one (3.2%) with LPG (Liqiuefied Pefroil Gas), one (3.2%) with electric shock, one (3.2%) with burning, one (3.2%) with drowning, one (3.2%) with jumping from height.en_US
