Kırsal alandaki kadınlarda biomass maruziyetinin lipid peroksidasyon ve antioksidan enzim aktivitelerine etkisi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı biomass maruziyetinin lipid peroksidasyonu ve antioksidan aktiviteye etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla yaş ortalaması 35.6±6.6 yıl olan, biomass kullanım öyküsü olmayan, sigara içmeyen, sağlıklı 30 kadın kontrol grubu olarak alındı (grup-1). Yaş ortalaması 33.8 ± 6.8 yıl olan, sigara içen, biomass maruziyet öyküsü olmayan, sağlıklı 34 kadın grup-2 olarak alındı. Yaş ortalaması 36.9 ± 6.4 yıl olan, biomass maruziyet öyküsü olan, sigara içmeyen, sağlıklı 36 kadın da grup-3 olarak alındı. Lipid peroksidasyonu göstergesi olarak eritrosit malondialdehid (EMDA) ve plazma malondialdehid (PMDA) aktivitesi incelendi ve serum ferritin (SF) düzeyi Enzyme Immun Assay (EIA) yöntemiyle ölçüldü. Antioksidan aktivite göstergesi olarak eritrosit süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), glutatyon peroksidaz (GSH-Px) ve katalaz (CAT) aktivitesi ölçüldü. Lipid peroksidasyonu düzeyleri grup-2 ve 3'te 1'e göre belirgin yüksekti (p<0.05). Grup-2 ile 3'ün SF düzeyleri arasında belirgin fark olmamasına rağmen (p>0.05); EMDAve PMDA düzeyi sigara içenlerde biomass maruziyeti olanlardan daha yüksekti (p<0.05). Antioksidan aktivite düzeyleri grup-2 ve 3'te grup-1'e göre belirgin düşüktü (p<0.05). Grup-2 ile 3 arasında GSH-Px ve CAT aktiviteleri arasında istatistiksel bir farklılık görülmezken (p>0.05); sigara içen grup-2'de, biomass maruziyeti olan grup-3'e göre SOD aktivitesi daha da düşmüştü (p<0.05). Sonuçta biomass maruziyeti olan kişilerde herhangi bir maruziyeti olmayan kişilere göre lipid peroksidasyon aktivitesinin arttığı, antioksidan aktivitenin ise azaldığı görüldü. Ancak sigara kullananlarda bu etkilenmelerin daha da fazla olduğu gözlendi.

The purpose of this study is to examine the change in lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzyme activities due to biomass exposure. The group1 includes 30 non-smoker females that have not exposed to biomass. The group2 includes 34 smoker females but have not exposed to any kind of biomass. The group-3 includes 36 non-smoker females. The females in this group were exposed to indoor pollution. Erytrocite malondialdehid (EMDA) and plasma malondialdehid (PMDA) activities of these groups were analyzed as an indicator of the lipid peroxidation activities. Moreover, the blood ferritin (BF) levels of cases were measured. Superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and catalase (CAT) activities were measured as an indicator of antioxidant activities. EMDA, PMDA, and BF levels of group-2 and 3 was much higher than group-1 (p&lt;0.05). There was no significant difference in BF level of group-2 and 3 (p&gt;0.05) whereas PMDA level was much higher in group-2 compared to group-3. The SOD, GSH-Px, and CAT levels of group-2 and 3 was much lower than group-1 (p&lt;0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between GSH-Px and CAT levels of group-2 and 3. In conclusion, there was a significant increase in lipid peroxidation activity and a significant decrease in antioxidant enzyme activity in female groups who were exposed to indoor pollution. Furthermore, it has been observed that these effects were higher for smoker females than that of nonsmokers.
