Tip II diyabetik hastalarda solunum fonksiyon testleri

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus solunum fonksiyonlarını da etkileyen sistemik bir hastalıktır. Bu nedenle Tip II diabetes mellituslu hastaların solunum fonksiyonlarını araştırmayı amaçladık. Bu amaçla Minato AS 600 spirometre ile 20 hasta ve 20 sağlıklı kişide solunum fonksiyon testleri uygulandı. Diyabetik hastalarda VC, FEV₁, FEV₁/FVC, PEF ve FEF25-75 değerleri hem kadınlar hem de erkeklerde sağlıklı kişilere göre istatistiksel olarak düşük bulunurken, her iki grup arasında FVC ve FEV₁/VC değerleri açısından anlamlı bir fark saptanamadı. Diabetes mellituslu hastaların solunum fonksiyon testlerindeki bu düşüşün sebebinin daha çok restriktif kaynaklı olabileceği düşünüldü.

Diabetes mellitus is a systemic illness affecting pulmonary functions. So, we aimed to investigate the pulmonary functions of the patients with Type II diabetes mellitus. Pulmonary function tests were done in 20 patients and 20 healthy subjects by Minato AS 600 spirometer. While VC, FEV<sub>1</sub>, FEV<sub>1</sub>/FVC, PEF and FEF25-75 values of diabetic patients were found to be decreased statistically, there was no difference between two groups in the values of FVC and FEV<sub>1</sub>/VC. The decrement of pulmonary function test values was thought to depend on restriction of the lungs.
