Acute urinary retention caused by hematocolpos and uterine leiomyoma: Report of two cases

Abstract

imperfore himen sonucu gelişen hematometrokolpos ve nadir olarak üretra obstrüksiyonuna yol açan uterin leimyomanın neden olduğu iki akut idrar retansiyon olgusu sunduk, ilk olgumuz 16 yaşında olup imperfore himen ve hematometrokolpos sonucu gelişen akut idrar retansiyonu vardı. Transabdominal ultrasonografide hematometrokolposun oluşturduğu 135x90x93 mm'lik kitle saptandı. İkinci olgu ise 36 yaşında ve 6 aydır akut idrar retansiyonu olan bir hasta idi. Uterin leomyoma nedeni ile histerektomi yapılan olgunun uterusunun makroskopik incelenmesinde fundusda 190x85x54 mm'lik myom vardı. Hematometrokolposa bağlı akut idrar retansiyon himenetomi ile uterin leimyoma bağlı idrar retansiyonu ise histerektomi ile başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edildi.

We reported two cases with acute urinary retention causing compression of urethra and bladder base by hematometrocolpos, a common presentation of an imperforate hymen, and uterine leiomyoma, in rare conditions, causing urethral displacement and obstruction. The first patient, a 16-year-old girl, had imperforate hymen with hematometrocolpcs causing acute urinary retention. Transabdominal ultrasonography revealed a 135 x 90 x 93 mm mass caused by hematocolpos. The second patient is a 36-year-old woman suffering from acute attacks of urinary retention for 6 months. In the patient whom we had performed hysterectomy had a 90 x 85 x 54 mm mass resulting from uterine ieiomyoma located at the uterine fundus. Acute urinary retention due to hematometrocolpos and uterine leiomyoma are treated successfully with hymenotomy and histerectomy respectively.
