Servet Gazetesi (1-100 Sayılar) İnceleme ve Seçilmiş Metinler

Abstract

Gazetelerin edebiyat ve kültür hayatına yaptıkları katkıya dikkat çekmek istediğimiz bu araştırma Servet'in 3 Haziran 1898- 21 Eylül 1898 tarihleri arasında çıkarılmış 1- 100. sayılarını kapsamaktadır. Servet gazetesinin sahibi Mehmet Tahir Bey'dir. Baba Tahir olarak da anılan bu gazeteci Servet-i Fünun sanat anlayışının edebî çevrede kabul gördüğü yıllarda Sultan II. Abdülhamit'in desteğini almış ve Musavver Malumat'ı çıkarmıştır. Servet-i Fünûn dergisini sekteye uğratarak, ortaya koydukları anlayışı eleştirmek ve onları kamuoyunda itibarsız hale getirmek isteyen Baba Tahir, 1898 yılında çıkardığı Servet gazetesini de aynı amaca hizmet ettirmiştir. Saraya bağlı yayın politikası izleyen gazetenin sayfalarında bu sebeple muhalif hiç bir yayın yer almaz. Servet-i Fünun hareketinden sanat anlayışı açısından farklı bir yol izleyen; Türk edebiyatına hizmetleri bulunan bazı imzalara Servet'te rastlamak mümkündür. O yıllarda basın çevresinde yer alan tartışmalara bu imzaların yazıları ile cevap verilmiştir. Bunun yanında gazetede dil ve edebiyata dair görüşler de yer alır. Dört bölümden oluşan çalışmanın "Giriş" kısmında devrin basın hayatı ve edebiyat ortamı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. "1. Bölüm"de gazetenin özellikleri ile edebiyat temelinde içeriği değerlendirilmiştir. "2. Bölüm"de gazetedeki yazı içeriklerinin, önce yazar isimlerine sonra konularına göre alfabetik dizini hazırlanmıştır. "3. Bölüm"de ise gazetenin içeriğini ve kimliğini ortaya koymak amacıyla çeşitli konularda seçilmiş metinler Latin harflerine aktarılmıştır. Servet gazetesi üzerine yapılan bu çalışmada Servet gazetesine yansıyan sosyal ve edebî hayat tespit edilmiş, araştırmacıların dikkatine sunulmuştur.

This research in which we attract the attention to the contribution of the newspapers to the area of the literature and the culture comprises the first 100 issues of Servet which were published between the years from 3rd June, 1898 to 21st September 1898. The owner of the newspaper, Servet was Mr. Tahir. This journalist, known as Tahir, the Father, was supported by the Sultan Abdulhamit II and published Musavver Malumat in the years Servet-i Fünun was accepted as an understanding of art by the literary milieu. By impeding the periodical of Servet-i Fünun, Tahir, the father, who wanted to criticize the understanding which was put forward by Servet-i Fünun and make discredited them, used the newspaper, Servet, which he published in 1898 for the same purpose. For this reason, there was no opposing publication on the pages of the newspaper which adopted a policy of publication tied to the palace. In Servet, it was possible to come accross the writers who followed a different way from the movement of Servet-i Fünun in that the understanding of art, and served for the Turkish Literature. In that years, an answer was given to the arguments which took part in the milieu of press with the articles of these writers. Furthermore, opinions relating to the language and literature took part in the newspaper. Information about the situation of press and the milieu of literature of the period was given in the “Introduction” part of the study which consists of four parts. In the “1st Part”, features of the newspaper and the content of it on the basis of literatue were appraised. In the “2nd Part”, alphabetical index of contents of articles was prepared first according to the names of the writers, then according to the subjects. In the “3rd Part”, texts which were chosen among different topics were translated into Latin alphabet with the aim of exposing the content and the identity of the newspaper. In this research on the newspaper, Servet, social and literary life which reflected on the newspaper, Servet was determined and presented to the attention of the researchers.
