Kadın Akademisyenlerin Kadına Yönelik Ekonomik Şiddet Algısı:Düzce Üniversitesi Örneği

Abstract

Ekonomik şiddet, kadının yaşamını paylaştığı eşi, partneri, aile üyeleri, akrabaları, çalışma arkadaşları ya da patronu tarafından dahi gerçekleştirilebilir. Ekonomik bir ilişki içinde iken ya da kadının ilişkisini terk etmesine rağmen ekonomik istismar dolayısıyla şiddet devam edebilir. Fakat kadınlar bunun yeterince farkında değillerdir. Bunun nedeni, kadınların şiddet olgusunu yalnızca fiziksel ve psikolojik şiddete indirgemeleri ve yaşadıkları ekonomik ya da diğer şiddet türlerini yaşamları içinde doğallaştırmaları nedeniyle, olayı anlatırken fiziksel şiddet dışında çoğunlukla diğer şiddet türlerini tanımlamamalarıdır. Bunun belki de temel sebeplerinden birisi ataerkil aile yapısının yani erkek egemen aile yapısının genetik kodlarının algımıza işlemiş olmasındandır. Çünkü kadınların birçoğu ekonomik anlamda mahrumiyeti aile içerisinde yeterince olumsuz bir duruma indirgememektedir. Kadına yönelik şiddetin çeşitli türleri ile mücadele edebilmek için izlenmesi gereken öncelikli yol şiddetin görünür hale gelmesidir. Karşı karşıya kalınan şiddet türünün kavramsal içeriğinin doldurulması gerekmektedir. Farklı unsurlar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda belirtilen hususların, toplumsal yapıda aktör olan ve daha çok üst tabakaya yakın olan akademisyen kadınlar tarafından nasıl anlamlandırıldığı sorusu akla gelmektedir. Bu açıdan yaptığımız çalışmada, kadın akademisyenlerin gözünden genel olarak kadının toplumdaki yerini, kadına yönelik şiddeti ve özel olarak kadına yönelik ekonomik şiddeti nasıl anlamlandırdıkları analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle 7 evli ve 7 bekâr kadın akademisyenle yapılan görüşmelerde çarpıcı sonuçlara ulaşılmış, kadına yönelik ekonomik şiddet ve diğer şiddet türlerinin azaltılmasında kadının ne kadar önemli fonksiyonlarının olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.

Economic violence, may be exerted by the woman’s husband she shares her life, her partner, her family members, her relatives even her coworkers or her boss as well. When being in an economic relationship or even when she left her affair violence may continue because of the economic abuse. However women are not sufficiently aware of that. The reason behind that is the women degrades the phenomenon of the violence only to the form physical and psychological violence and when they talk about the incidents they don’t define the other violence forms than the physical violence since they naturalize them in their daily lives. One of the possible main reasons behind this is due to the genetic codes of the patriarchal family pattern, in other words the male dominant family structure is saturated into our perception. Because many women don’t interpret the economical destitute in family as bad enough as it is. To be able to contend with the various kinds of the violence against women, primary path that should be followed is making the violence apparent. The conceptual content of the kind of violence being faced must be cleared up. When the various parameters are taken into considerations, the question of how the given matters are being interpreted by the academic women who are actors in societal structure and mostly closer to the upper strata comes to mind. In this study we conducted by this perspective, from the eyes of the women academics, how they interpret the woman’s position in the society, the violence against women and specifically the economic violence towards woman are tried to be evaluated. By qualitative research methods, in the interviews conducted with 7 married and 7 single women striking results have been deduced; how important functions that the woman has in the attenuation of the economic violence against women and other violence types have been revealed.
