With the development of technology, it is observed that the economy develops
rapidly. In order to maintain their place in the country and to develop, they have
been constantly racing. With the increase in trade, the effectiveness of money and
exchange rates increased. Exchange rates are one of the factors driving the economy.
Thanks to exchange rates, the link between the national economy and the world economy
is established and thus, the competitive power of the countries is determined
by the exchange rate. The exchange rate regimes implemented in this complex structure
show how the structure of the road to the integration of countries with world
economies will be. Undoubtedly, exports and growth are the most decisive factors on
economic indicators.
In this study, the export of Turkey's economy, exchange rate and direction of
relationships and interactions with each other variables of economic growth will be
examined. For this purpose, between the years 1980-2016, the data is discussed in
two periods. The method was analyzed with Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality test.
Firstly, ADF was tested with unit root test to determine the stability of the data. According
to the results obtained from the unit root test, it is observed that the first differences
of the export and economic growth rates at the exchange rate level are fixed.
The causality relations were examined with the help of the Toda-Yamamoto test because
they were not stationary. There was a mutual relationship between the series.
Finally, the direction of the relationship between the series is determined.
As a result of empirical findings; When the probability results of economic
growth are evaluated, export is the reason of economic growth, but not the reason of
the exchange rate. When the exchange rate probability results are evaluated, economic
growth and export is the cause of exchange rate. When the export probability
results are evaluated, while the exchange rate is the reason of export, it is not the
reason of economic growth. As a result, it is seen that there is causality between magic,
foreign exchange and export. But this is unilateral between grow than dexchange
rate, while causality is mutual between grow thand expor
