Bunların % 89'u (24) erkek, % 11'i (3) kadındı.
M: Twenty-seven patients were operated with the diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm between March 1990 and January 2000 in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Cumhuriyet University. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The patients' age ranged between 51 and 79, the average was 69 years. Of these patients, 89% (24) were male, 11% (3) were female. Sixty-three percent (17) of the patients were operated in elective conditions whereas 37% (10) were operated as emergent cases. The diameter of aneurysms ranged between 4.5 and 12 cm (average 6.5). RESULTS: The Y greft replacement was performed in 81% (22), the tubular greft was performed in 11% (3) and aneurysmoraphy was performed in 3.7% (1) of the patients. The mortality rate was 5.8 % in the elective cases whereas it was 40.7% in the emergent cases. CONCLUSION: We concluded that the patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm should have operated as soon as diagnosed unless they do not have another systemic disorder which may increase the risk of operation.en_US
