İki köy ilköğretim okulu öğrencilerinde Pediculus türlerinin araştırılması

Abstract

Sivas köylerinden ikisinin ilköğretim okullarına devam eden öğrenciler Pediculus türleri, özellikle de Pediculus capitis varlığı yönünden tarandı. Taramada her öğrencinin başı ve giysilerinin yaka kısımları çıplak gözle incelendi. İnceleme esnasında saç tellerinde, deride ve giysilerde (önlük, iç çamaşırı gibi) saptanan bulgular değerlendirildi. Çalışmada 228'i erkek 208'kız olmak üzere toplam 436 öğrenci tarandı. Bunlardan beşinde (hepsi kız) (%1.1) Pediculus capitis yumurtası (sirke) ve/ veya erişkini bulunurken, 26'erkek 31'i kız olan 57 öğrencinin (%13.1) giysisinde pire izlerine rastlandı. Kız öğrencilerden birinin kulak arkasında deriye yapışmış bir sert kene bulunurken, diğer birinde de, öğrencinin kendi ifadesine göre, deriye yapışmış kenenin çıkarılmasına bağlı bîr iz bulunduğu gözlendi. Öğrencilerin hiç birinde Pediculus corporis yumurtası veya erişkini görülmedi.

The students of the primary and secondary schools of two villages in Sivas were screened for Pediculus spp., especially for Pediculus capitis. The hair, scalp and collars of the clothes of each student were inspected for the eggs, nymphs or adults of head and body lice. A total of 436 students, 228 boys and 208 girls, were inspected and we found either eggs or adults of Pediculus capitis in only five girls. Signs of fleas on the necks of undershirts of 57 students (26 boys and 31 girls) were seen. We also found a live hard tick embedded in the scalp of a girl (just behind one of her ears). In still another student, a boy, we observed an area of newly healed scar tissue, which according to him, was apparently caused by removing a tick embedded into the skin of that area. We found no P. corporis eggs, nymphs or adults in any of the students.
