Demokrasi ve Sivil Toplum Örgütlerinin Engelleri: Patronaj ve Nepotizm

Abstract

Bu makale, Türkiye gibi Doğu toplumlarında, demokrasi ve sivil toplum örgütlerinin gelişmesini engelleyen, patronaj ve nepotizmi vurgulamaktadır. Bunun sonucu olarak, bu tür toplumlardaki mevcut sivil toplum örgütleri, modern demokratik toplumlardaki gibi işlev görmemektedir. Doğu toplumlarındaki sivil toplum örgütlerine dikkatli bir bakış, diğerlerine şans tanımayan "biz" tabanlı, iktidara gelmek için can atan siyasal ve monist bir yapıyı sergilemektedir. Bu, toplumlardaki sosyalleşmenin tipi ve seviyesi ile direkt olarak ilgilidir.

This article emphasises patronage and nepotism which obstruct the development of democracy and NGO's (Non-Governmental Organisations) in the Eastern societies, like Turkey. As a result, present NGO's in such societies do not function as in modern democratic societies. A close look at NGO's in Eastern societies reveals a monistic, political structure striving for the position based on "we" and not giving a chance to the "others". This is directly related both to the level and the type of socialisation.
