Computer tomography density values associated with normal aging of the brain

Abstract

Bu çalışmada sağlıklı olgulardan elde edilen Bilgisayarlı Tomografi görüntüleri üzerinde spesifik beyin bölgelerinin dansite değerleri Hounsfıld Ünitesi cinsinden ölçüldü. İncelenen 190 olgu, yaş ile birlikte beyinin matürasyonu sürecinde, gösterdiği yapısal değişimler göz önüne alınarak, 1-17, 18-30, 31-60 ve 61-80 yaş gruplarına ayrıldı. Bu yaş grupları ile spesifik beyin bölgelerinin dansite değerleri arasında yapılan istatistiki analizler anlamlı bulundu.

In the present study; Computed Tomography (CT) sections were used to measure the specific brain regions density (SBRD) values as a Hounsfield Unit (HU). 190 healthy subjects were investigated according to the structural differences during the maturation of the brain, and span of life. Considering these process the subjects were grouped as; 1-17,18-30 and 31-60, 61-80 years. The analyses between these age groups and all the specific regions' density values (DV) of the brain were found to be statistically significant.
