Hipertansif ve normotansif kontrolsüz tip 2 diyabetes mellitus'ta plazma ve eritrosit içi magnezyum düzeyleri

Abstract

Amaç: Son yıllarda esansiyel hipertansiyon ve Tip 2 diyabetes mellitus etyolojisine yönelik çalışmalar yapılırken, her iki hastalıkta magnezyum (Mg) metabolizmasındaki değişiklikler araştırmacıların dikkatini çekmiştir. Biz de hipertansif olan ve olmayan Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu hastalarda plazma ve eritrosit içi Mg düzeylerini araştırdık. Gereç ve Yöntem: 23 Hipertansif Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu hasta, 17 hipertansif olmayan Tip 2 diyabetes mellitus ve 40 sağlıklı kontrol grubu çalışmamıza alındı, hepsinde plazma Mg ve eritrosit içi Mg seviyeleri ölçüldü. Bulgular: Plazma Mg için ortalama değerler sırasıyla 2.08±0.13 mg/dl, 1.79±0.08 mg/dl, 2.23±0.08 mg/dl eritrosit içi Mg için ortalama değerler sırasıyla 48.94±3.40 mg/dl, 46.33±2.20 mg/dl, 63.00±2.29 mg/dl olarak saptandı. Hipertansif olan ve olmayan Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu hastalar arasında plazma Mg ve eritrosit içi Mg seviyesi açısından anlamlı farklılık yoktu (p>0.05). Hipertansif ve normotansif Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu iki hasta grubunda, plazma Mg ve eritrosit içi Mg seviyesi, sağlıklı kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı olarak düşük bulundu (p<0.05). Sonuç: Sonuç olarak plazma ve eritrosit içi Mg seviyeleri hipertansif olan ya da olmayan Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu hastalarda anlamlı olarak düşmektedir.

Objective: As the studies about finding the etiology of essential hypertension and Type 2 DM has been going on in recent years, the difference in Mg metabolism in both diseases have attracted the attention of the investigators. Material and Method: We also investigate the plasma and intraerytrocytic Mg levels in hypertensive and nonhypertensive Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Results: 17 Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients without hypertension (9 males, 8 females, mean age 55.88&plusmn;3.17), 23 Type 2 diabetes mellitus patient with hypertension (9 males, 14 females, mean age 59.26&plusmn;2.20) and 40 healthy controls (17 males, 23 females, mean age 51.45&plusmn;2.18) were evaluated for plasma and intraerytrocytic Mg levels. The mean values of Mg in plasma were 2.08&plusmn;0.13 mg/dl, 1.79&plusmn;0.08 mg/dl, 2.23&plusmn;0.08 mg/dl and the mean of intraerytrocytic Mg were 48.94&plusmn;3.40 mg/dl, 46.33&plusmn;2.20 mg/dl, 63&plusmn;2.29 mg/dl for normotensive, hypertensive and control groups respectively. Plasma and intraerytrocytic Mg levels in hypertensive and nonhypertensive Type 2 diabetes mellitus were not significantly different from each other (p&gt;0.05). Both groups had significantly low levels of plasma Mg and intraerytrocytic Mg when compared to the control group (p&lt;0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, plasma Mg and intraerytrocytic Mg levels were significantly reduced in diabetes mellitus patients with or without hypertension.
