| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Giant cavernous angioma mimicking cerebellar neoplasm with major bleed: a case report Cavernous angiomas (CAs) of the central nervous system are angiographically occult vascular lesions and are easily diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). CAs are common lesions and comprise 5 to 13 % of intracranial vascular anomalies. These vascular lesions are clinically silent. In the posterior fossa, CAs usually originate in the brainstem. Data in the literature about CAs localized in the cerebellum are limited to case reports. In this article, we present a child patient with a giant CA of the posterior fossa, and discuss its computed tomography (CT) and MRI findings in the view of the literature as well as it's histopathological features. | en_US |
