Okul Öncesi Eğitim Kurumlarında Fiziksel/Mekansal Koşulların İncelenmesi: Sivas İli Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarından seçilmiş bir örneklemde, var olan fiziksel/mekânsal koşulların, çocukların gelişim özelliklerine ve ilgili alanyazına uyup uymadığı araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, Sivas ilinde, on beş okul öncesi eğitim kurumunda, okul binasının yeri/yapısı, iç mekân özellikleri, bahçe/dış mekân özellikleri ve güvenliğine ilişkin olarak, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden “gözlem” ve “doküman incelemesi” yoluyla veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin, alanyazın bilgileriyle karşılaştırılması sonucunda, idari bölümler, uyku odası, yemek masası ve sandalye boyutları, çocuk başına düşen alan, ısınma ve aydınlatma koşullarının “yeterli/oldukça yeterli” olduğu görülmüştür. Gözlem odası, sağlık odası, tuvalet-lavabo sayıları, bahçe, oyun araçgereçleri ve yangın güvenliği açısından sağlanan koşullar ise “yetersiz/oldukça yetersiz” dir. Araştırmanın sonuçları, incelenen okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında, fiziksel/mekânsal koşulların belirlenmiş ölçütlere tam olarak uymadığı ve okullar arasında farklılıklar gösterdiği şeklinde özetlenebilir.

In this study, the physical/spatial conditions are examined in a sample which is selected from preschool education programs and to be convenient with children’s development and the literature. For this purpose, by “observation” and “examining documents” techniques of Qualitative Research Methods, the data have been collected about the place of school, its structure, inner-space properties, gardens/outer-space properties, and the security with related to fifteen preschool institutions in Sivas city. The results that are obtained by literature comparison of data show that; the conditions in management offices, sleeping rooms, dimensions of the dining-tables and chairs, area per child and the conditions of heating-lighting are “sufficient/ fairly so sufficient”. On the other hand “observation room”, “doctor’s room”, “the numbers of WC-lavabo stands”, schoolyard, game materials and fire precaution”conditions are “insufficient/hardly insufficient”. Final results of investigation demonstrate that physical/spatial conditions of these preschool educational centers are inappropriate with relevant standards and observed conditions are different between these schools.
