Öğrenci hemşireler tarafından bir halk eğitim merkezinde verilen eğitimin kadınların meme kanseri/kendi kendine meme muayenesine yönelik bilgi ve uygulamalarına etkisi

Abstract

AMAÇ: Araştırma bir halk eğitim merkezinde öğrenci hemşireler tarafından verilen eğitimin, kadınların meme kanseri-KKMM konusundaki bilgi ve uygulamalarına etkisini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. YÖNTEM: Araştırma halk eğitim merkezine devam eden kadınlardan ön test ve son testte ulaşılan 93 kadın ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler kişisel bilgi formu ve meme kanseri-KKMM bilgi testi ile toplanmıştır. Bilgi testi toplam 10 puan üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Eğitimden önce bilgi testi ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra kadınlara meme kanseri ve KKMM konusunda eğitim verilmiştir. 4 hafta sonra bilgi testi ikinci kez uygulanmış, ayrıca eğitim tekrarlanmıştır. Bu eğitimden 4 hafta sonra bilgi testi son test olarak uygulanmış ve kadınların KKMM uygulamaları değerlendirilmiştir. BULGULAR: Kadınların ön test bilgi puan ortalaması 4.48, ikici test bilgi puan ortalaması 5.57 ve son test bilgi puan ortalaması 7.27 olup, hem ön test-ikici test hem de ikinci test-son test bilgi puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur (p<0.001). Eğitim öncesinde kadınların % 4.3’ü düzenli olarak meme muayenesi yaparken, eğitimden sonra bu oran %51.6’ya yükselmiştir (p<0.05). SONUÇ: Araştırma da yer alan kadınların meme kanseri-KKMM konusundaki bilgileri ve düzenli meme muayenesi yapma davranışları yetersizdir. Eğitim programı sonrasında kadınların hem bilgi düzeyleri hem de meme muayenesi yapma davranışlarında olumlu yönde önemli gelişmeler olmuştur

PURPOSE: This research was carried out to evaluate the eff ect of education given by nursing students on womens&amp;#8217; knowledge and practice of breast cancer- breast self examination in a public training center. METHOD: The research was conducted on 93 women who attended a public training center and reached on pretest and posttest. Data was collected by individual information form and breast cancer-BSE knowledge test. Before the education program has started, breast cancer-BSE knowledge test was applied as pre-test. Then education related to breast cancer-BSE was applied to women. Breast cancer-BSE knowledge test was applied secondly, and education was repeated. Breast cancer-BSE knowledge test was applied as posttest four weeks later than last education and it was evaluated the BSE practice of women. RESULTS: It was found that the average point of pretest of women was 4.48, average point of second test was 5.57 and average point of posttest was 7.27. There was a statistically significant diff erence in between both the average point of breast cancer-BSE knowledge pretest and second test and between second test and post test (p&lt;0.001). 4.3 % of women said that performed regularyl BSE before education, it was elavated to 51.6 % after education (p&lt;0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Knowledge and practice on breast cancer-BSE of women was insufficient. However, it was improve knowledge and practice on Breast cancer-BSE of women after education.
