Bitirme tezi hazırlayan öğrencilerin yaşadıkları güçlükler

Abstract

Amaç. Kesitsel olarak planlanan bu araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin bitirme tezi yaparken karşılaştıkları güçlükleri saptamaktır. Yöntem. Araştırmanın evrenini, Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi tıp, diş hekimliği, hemşirelik ve ebelikte "bitirme tezi" hazırlayan tüm öğrenciler (n=220) oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veriler beş alt boyuttan oluşan Likert tipinde hazırlanan bir anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Anket formunun Cronbach alpha katsayısı 0,8590'dır Çalışmada anketlere cevap verme oranı %79'dur. Bulgular. Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 23,7±1,82 olup, öğrencilerin %43,7'sini tıp fakültesi öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Tüm öğrencilerin %77,0'si tez yapmanın gerekli olmadığını belirtirken, bu oran tıp öğrencilerinde %96,1'dir. Tez yaparken danışmanlıkla ilgili süreçte en fazla güçlük yaşayan grup, tıp ve diş hekimliği öğrencileri iken (p<0,001), ebelik öğrencilerinin grup çalışması ile ilgili alanda diğer gruplara göre daha fazla güçlük yaşadığı saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Öğrencilerin anketten aldıkları toplam puan ortalamalarının bölümlerine göre dağılımında ise sırasıyla ebelik ve tıp öğrencilerinin toplam puan ortalaması diğer gruplara göre yüksektir (p<0,001). Yabancı dil düzeyini "iyi değil" olarak niteleyenler ile tez yapmayı gereksiz bulan öğrencilerin, tez yapma sürecinde daha fazla güçlük yaşadığı saptanmıştır (p<0,001). Sonuç. Tez yapma sürecinde öğrencilerin farklı alanlarda güçlükler yaşadıkları saptanmıştır.

Aim. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the difficulties of students while writing a graduation thesis. Materials. The universe of the research was all the students writing a graduation thesis in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Midwifery Schools (n=220). The response rate of the study was 79%. Data collection tool was a Likert type questionnaire consisting of five subgroups. The Cronbach Alpha Coefficient was 0.8590. Results. The mean age of the students was 23.7&plusmn;1.82 and 43.7% of the students were medical students. It was determined that 77% of the students, and 96.1% of the medical students didn't think that writing a graduation thesis is necessary (p&lt;0.001). Medical and dentistry students had experienced more difficulties in the supervisory -advisory process (p&lt;0.001), and the midwifery students in the group working process (p&lt;0.05). The mean point of the midwifery and medicine students were higher than the other groups. It was found that those who defined their foreign language skills and abilities as &quot;not good&quot; and those who thought that writing a graduation thesis is not necessary, experienced more difficulties than the other students (p&lt;0.001). Conclusion. The students have different difficulties in thesis writing process.
