Bir entegre eğitim programından yeni mezun olan hemşirelerin meslek ve okul eğitimine ilişkin düşünceleri ve profesyonel kimlik düzeyleri

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, entegre eğitim programından yeni mezun ve henüz çalışmaya başlamamış olan hemşirelerin aldıkları okul eğitimine ilişkin düşünceleri ve profesyonel kimliklerinin gelişim düzeylerini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan çalışma, entegre eğitim programı uygulayan bir Hemşirelik Bölümü’nden yeni mezun olan 82 hemşire ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Hemşirelerde Profesyonel Benlik Kavramı Ölçeği (HPBKÖ)” kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Yeni mezun hemşirelerin %61’i bu okulda eğitim görmekten memnun olduğunu, %84.1’i okul eğitiminin kendi- lerini mesleğe hazırlamakta yeterli olduğunu belirtmiştir. Hemşirelerin hemen hepsi (%86.6) okul eğitiminin mesleğe bakış açısını olumlu etkilediğini ve okuldaki derslerin mesleki bilinç kazandırmada etkili (%96.3) olduğunu düşünmektedirler. Ayrıca hemşirelerin HPBKÖ genel puan ve alt boyut puan ortalamalarının, olumlu yönde ortalamanın üstünde olduğu be- lirlenmiştir. Okul eğitiminden memnun olan, okul eğitimi mesleğe bakış açımızı olumlu etkiledi diyen hemşirelerin HPBKÖ genel puan ortalamaları anlamlı derecede yüksek saptanmıştır (p<0.01). Okul eğitiminin kendilerini mesleğe hazırladığını belirtenlerin HPBKÖ puanları daha yüksek saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Entegre eğitim uygulayan bir hemşirelik lisans programından yeni mezun olan hemşirelerin aldıkları okul eği- timine ilişkin düşünceleri genel olarak olumludur. Yanı sıra entegre eğitim programından yeni mezun olan hemşirele- rin profesyonel kimliklerinin olumlu yönde ve ileri düzeyde geliştiği söylenebilir. Okul eğitimini olumlu olarak algılayan hemşirelerin profesyonel kimlik gelişimleri de olumlu olmuştur.

Aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate ideas concerning school education of the nurses who newly graduated from an integrated school program and who had not yet began to work and their professional identity development levels. Method: Being descriptive type, the study was carried out with 82 newly graduated students from Nursing Department that implements integrated education program. &amp;#8220;Personal Information Form&amp;#8221; and Professional Self-Concept Scale in Nurses (PSCSN)&amp;#8221; were used in this study. Results: 61% of the newly graduated nurses reported that they were glad to receive education from this school, and 81,4% reported that the school education was satisfactory in preparing them to profession. Almost all of the nurses (86,6%) thought that the school education positively affected their viewpoint to the profession and courses at school were effec- tive in gaining occupational conscious (96,3%). Moreover, it was determined that PSCSN general and sub-dimension score averages were positively above the average. PSCSN general score averages of the nurses who were glad of school education and who reported that school education positively affected their viewpoint to the occupation were detected significantly high (p&lt;0.01). PSCSN scores of the nurses who reported that school education prepared them to profession were determined to be higher. Conclusion: The ideas concerning school education of the nurses who newly graduated from a nursing undergraduate program applying integrated education are generally positive. Besides, it may be told that professional identities of the nurses who newly graduated from the integrated school program developed positively and in advanced level. Professional identity developments of the nurses who perceived the school education positively are also positive.
