Abstract

Tüberküloz açısından önemli ilerlemeler sağlanmış olmakla birlikte, hastalık halen önemini korumaktadır. Ülkemizde yayınlanan raporlara göre tüberküloza yakalananların sayısı her yıl azalmaktadır. Bu durum tüberküloza yakalananların mı yoksa yakalanabilen tüberkülozluların mı azaldığı sorusunu akla getirmektedir. Bu yazı ülkemizdeki tüberküloz insidansının yıllar içindeki azalmasının gerçek bir azalma olup olmadığını tartışmaktadır.

Though significant progress is made in combatting tuberculosis, the diseases still maintains its importance in terms of public health. According to reports published, the burden of tuberculosis is decreasing over years. This, however, raises the question whether it is actually the number of persons with tuberculosis or the number of persons with tuberculosis who are identified as so is in decline. The article discusses whether secular decline in the incidence of tuberculosis as suggested by figures is a real one.
