ANADOLU'DA SOSYOLOJİ EĞİTİMİ: SİVAS CUMHURİYET ÜNİVERSİTESİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Sosyoloji, 100 yıllık geçmişi ile İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü ile akla gelir. Kuruluş ve bir ekol oluşturma konusunda, İstanbul Sosyoloji'nin Türkiye'de sosyoloji açısından yeri ve önemi tartışılmaz. Daha sonra 1940'larda Ankara'da Dil Tarih Coğrafya Fakültesi'nde, 1960'larda Hacettepe ve ODTÜ'de, 1970'lerde Ege Üniversitesi ve Boğaziçi Üniversite'lerinde de sosyoloji bölümleri kurulmuştur. 1980'li yıllarda ise Cumhuriyet, Atatürk, Selçuk, İnönü, Fırat, Mimar Sinan ve Uludağ Üniversite'lerinde açılması ile yaygınlaşan sosyoloji bölümleri, 1990'lar ve 2000'lerde de artmış, bugün sayı -76 devlet ve 24 vakıf üniversitesi olmak üzere- 100'e ulaşmıştır. Çalışmanın konusu, orta düzeyde gelişmiş olan Cumhuriyet Üniversite'sinde, Sivas'ta, 33 yıldır yürütülmekte olan sosyoloji eğitimidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyolojinin Anadolu'daki ilk örneklerinden biri olan Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü'ndeki sosyoloji eğitimini, yapısı, nitelikleri, yönelimleri, etkinlikleri ve eksiklikleri bakımından ele almaktır

Department of Sociology at Istanbul University springs to mind with its 100 years history when talking of Sociology. The importance and place of Department of Sociology at Istanbul University as an institution and school of thought in Turkey with regard to sociology education is indisputable. Later, in 1940s in Ankara at the Faculty of Humanities, in 1960s at Hacettepe and Middle East Technical University, in 1970s at Ege University and Boğaziçi University departments of sociology were founded. With the foundation of sociology departments at Cumhuriyet, Atatürk, Selçuk, İnönü, Fırat, Mimar Sinan, and Uludağ universities in 1980s, they became widespread, and they increased in number in the 1990s and 2000s. Today their number reached 100; 76 of which are at state universities and the rest at non-profit foundation universities. The subject of this study is sociology education implemented for 33 years at Cumhuriyet University, a medium-level developed university in Sivas. The aim of this study is to investigate the sociology education in this university which is one of the first examples in Anatolia regarding its structure, quality, trends, activities, and shortcomings
