ÖĞRENCİLERİN BAŞARILARINA ETKİ EDEN FAKTÖRLERİN LOGİSTİK REGRESYON ANALİZİ İLE BELİRLENMESİ: CUMHURİYET ÜNİVERSİTESİ İKTİSADİ VE İDARİ BİLİMLER FAKÜLTESİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada iki kategorili niteliksel veri tipinde olan bağımlı değişken ile hem sürekli hem de kesikli değişkenlerden oluşan bağımsız değişkenler kümesi arasındaki ilişkiyi tanımlayabilen iki kategorili (binary) lojistik regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada amaç, Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi İ.İ.B.F. öğrencilerin başarılarına etki eden faktörlerin logistik regresyon yöntemi ile belirlenmesidir. Uygulanan 309 anketten elde edilen veriler kulanılmıştır. Bağımlı değişken ile ilişkili olabileceği düşünülen 24 bağımsız değişken logistik regresyon analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Analiz sonucunda öğrencilerin başarılarını etkilediği belirlenen 9 faktör; öğrencinin cinsiyeti, yaşı, eğitim gördüğü bölüm, bulunduğu sınıf, ailenin öğrenciye karşı tutumu, şu an hayatına etki eden önemli bir sorunun varlığı, kitap okuma alışkanlığının olup olmaması, üst sınıflardan edindiği bilgiler nedeniyle derslere önyargılı davranması, ders çalışmasına engel olan etmenlerin var olması şeklindedir.

In this study, binary logistic regression analysis which can define the relationship between the dependent variable which is two way categorized qualitative data type and independent variable set which consist of both continuous and discrete variables was used. The aim of the study is to determine the factors which affect the success of the students of the Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty of Cumhuriyet University by logistic regression method. Data's which obtained from 309 surveys was used.24 independent variables which is assumed to be related to dependent variable is subjected to logistic regression analysis. In the result of the analysis, 9 factors that affect the success of the students are determined as gender of the student, age, the department he/she studies, the class he/she is in, attitude of the family to the student, presence of a significant problem that affect his/her life, whether or not having a habit of reading, being biased on the lectures due to the advices from elder students, having factors that affects studying.
