Yahudi Hıristiyanlığı’nın Ayak İzlerinde: Etiyopya Kilisesi

Abstract

Filistin coğrafyasından ve Yahudilik içinden çıkmış olan Hıristiyanlık, bir süre sonra Roma coğrafyasında ve Gentile arasında yayılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda linguistik, demografik ve kültürel dönüşümler gerçekleşmiş ve bir tarafta Yahudi Hıristiyanlığı öte tarafta da Gentile Hıristiyanlığı şeklinde bir ayrım ortaya çıkmıştır. İkisinin mücadelesi sonucunda Gentile Hıristiyanlığı galip gelmiş ve Yahudi Hıristiyanlığı heretik kabul edilerek yok edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu makalede Hıristiyan olmak için önce Yahudi olmanın gerektiğini belirten Yahudi Hıristiyanlığı ile Etiyopya Kilisesi'nin Yahudi Hıristiyanlığına benzer tutumları göz önüne serilmeye çalışılacaktır

Christianity was born within Judaism in the Palestinian geography. It soon spread across the Roman Empire and addressed the gentile communities. As a result of the gentile missions, linguistic, demographic and cultural transformations took place among the new Christian communities. A distinction thus emerged between Jewish Christians on the one hand, and the Gentile Christianity on the other; and they became rivals. Among the two rival groups, Gentile Christianity eventually prevailed, while the other was marked as heretical. This essay aims to shed some light on the Jewish Christianity that required being Jewish as a pre-condition to convert to the new religion as well as the Ethiopian Christianity which revealed similar attitudes the Jewish Christianity with regard to Christians’ attitude to the Jewish religion.
