| dc.description.abstract | Son dönemde petrol fiyatlarında yaşanan yoğun dalgalanmaların yanısıra Türk lirasının yabancı para birimleri karşısında değer kaybetmesi petrol fiyatları ile döviz kurları arasındaki ilişkinin tekrar gündeme gelmesine neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada petrol fiyatları ile döviz kuru arasındaki ilişkinin Türkiye ekonomisi için asimetrik nedensellik testi ile incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Son dönemde Hatemi-J ve Roca (2014) tarafından geliştirilen asimetrik nedensellik testi ile 2009 - 2015 yılları arasında kalan ve dalgalı döviz kuru rejiminin uygulandığı dönem incelenerek değişkenler arasındaki muhtemel asimetri test edilmektedir. | dc.description.abstract | he volatility in the oil price in the last decades and the depreciation of TL against other currencies raised a very popular question once again; the relation between oil prices and the exchange rate. This study aims to investigate the relation between exchange rate and oil prices in Turkey. Hatemi-J and Roca (2014) asymmetric causality test is employed. The period for the analysis covers the data from 2001 to 2015. According to the test results, there is a significant causality from oil prices to exchange rate in the selected period.
