Abstract

Within the scope of this study, initially the parameters effect the digging design had been explained and a literature survey had been conducted on diggability and rippability classification systems. The parameters used in these classification systems and their usage frequencies and weights had been investigated. Then, these classification systems had been evaluated by considering the mass and material properties of different rock units. In the light of this investigation and evaluations, a new classification system was proposed.
