Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is a rare benign and usually self-limited phenomenon of unknown etiology, which is characterized by postural headache, neck rigidity, nausea and vomiting. The imaging findings of SIH on cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are characteristic with diffuse intracranial pachymeningeal thickening and enhancement following intravenous gadolinium. In the present case report, we present the clinical features and MRI findings of this rare condition. © 2004 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.en_US
