Infective endocarditis and prophylaxis requirement in dentistry [Diş hekimliğinde enfektif endokardit riski ve profilaksi gerekliliği]
Özet
Infective endocarditis is an uncommon but life-threatening infection. For decades, the American Heart Association (AHA) recomended that patients with certain hearth conditions take antibiotics shortly before dental treatment. These suggestions have been updated in different years, the latest date being 2007. The aim of the study is to refresh to dentist's knowledge of infective endocarditis and to give information about the practices of AHA.
