dc.description.abstractThe paper starts with the well founded assertion that the study of interaction between soil'and structure is important for realistic determination of behaviour of high buildings. An approximate method for dynamic analysis of buildings, with the load bearing system made of shear walls and frames, is proposed. The flexibility of foundations under the walls is taken into account when determining periods of horizontal oscillation. The proposed method is presented on two examples, and the results obtained correspond well with the ones acquired using the finite element method.en_US
