dc.description.abstract | Food safety has always been one of the major issues of our societies. Despite the technological advances, industrial developments, and broad education, millions of people throughout the world continue to suffer from foodborne illnesses associated with the consumption of contaminated food and water (WHO 2007). Besides the health issues, which sometimes lead to complications or even deaths, the foodborne disease outbreaks also cause huge economic losses for the medical and food sectors. Therefore, the food industry and researchers in the food safety area strive to find methods to assure the safety of food products. © 2014 by Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. | en_US |
