dc.description.abstractSelf-esteem is a necessary part of one's personality and teachers have very powerful impact on its improvement and development on students. So, beside professional knowledge, their self-esteem is also very important for science teachers. This study was performed in order to determine the self-esteem level of science teachers and affecting factors. Descriptive research method was used in study and it was performed with the 210 science teaching students of Cumhuriyet University at 2011-12 academic year. For collecting the data, "Personal Information Form" and "Coopersmith Self-esteem Scale" were used. For evaluation of study data, when the independent variable level was two, "t Test" was used. When the level is more than two, "F Test" was used. As the result of the study, it was seen that the self-esteem of science teacher candidates did not change due to class level or sex or living place or household income level. © Sila Science.en_US
