The Life and Emirate of Hisham b. Abd-ar-rahman from Andalusian Umayyad Dynasty
Abstract
Hisham b. Abd-ar-rahman b. Muawiyah is the second amir of Andalusian Umayyad Dynasty. After his father Abd-ar-rahman I's death, he ascended the throne and stayed there for eight years. Meanwhile he dealt with rebellions and supressed the revolts. Hisham, who was called al-Radhi because of his piety, justice and curiosity for knowledge, protected and cherished the ulama. In addition, there has been important construction works in this period.
