Sanhacılı leucogranite, Lökköy K-feldspar megacrystalline monzogranite, Büyüklök monzogranitc and Başnayayla diorite/gabhro have been determined as the lithodem units in the southern part of Yozgat city of the Yozgat batholith which covers an area of approximately 2000 km? in Central Anatolia, Turkey. All these lithodem units are unconformably overlaid by the Lower-Middle Eocene Topçu formation. The Sarıhacılı leucogranite is composed of syn-collisional two mica granites with S type, aluminous, and normative corundum characteristics. Lökköy and Büyüklök monzogranites, differing from each other that the former one typically includes K-feldspar megacrystals, are made up of post collisional I-type, metaluminous - calcalkaline, normative diopside and postcollisional monzogranites. These monzogranites also show the evidences of the magma mingling and mixing processes between the co eval felsic and mafic magmas. As to the Başnayayla diorite/gabbro, it consists of both of the dioritic (plagioclase with An<50) and gabbroic (An>50) rocks with post collisional M-type, transitional between low-K tholeiitic and calcalkaline in 520 composition. When these data mentioned above are considered altogether in the regional geolgy context, one can suggest such a petrogenetic and geodynamic evolution model for the Yozgat batholith. After the consumption of the northern branch of the Neo-Tethys along a northward subduction zone, the Anatolides (sensu stricto the Kırşehir block) and Pontic basement have been collided with each other along the well-known Ankara-Erzincan suture zone. Following this juxtaposition, the Yozgat batholith was emplaced in the northern part of the Kırşehir block, i.e. in the passive margin of this convergence system. At first, the Sarıhacılı leucogranite has solidified from a supracrustal granitic magma generated as a syn-collisional magma. In the mature stages of the crustal thickening, the Lökköy and Büyüklök monzogranites have been derived from the lower to mid-crustal depth magma chambers. As the youngest unit, the Başnayayla diorite/gabbro has been cristallized from a mafic magma generated by the partial melting of the upwelled upper mantle material under adiabatic decompression conditions due to tensional regime following the crustal thickening.en_US
